Since 2022, I am a member of the Institute of Policy Studies and Democracy (Ινστιτούτο Μελετών Πολιτικής και Δημοκρατίας – ΙΜΠΔ), the largest think tank in Cyprus, contributing to its work as part of its network of experts in the fields of energy, sustainability, and public policy. Within this framework, I lead the Chair on Sustainable Energy and the Environment, a role that allows me to actively bridge scientific research with evidence-based policymaking.

The Chair focuses on the challenges and opportunities of Cyprus’s energy transition towards a green, climate-neutral, and resource-efficient society. Its activities adopt a holistic perspective, addressing the interconnections between energy, environment, economy, and society, while supporting both national and EU climate and energy objectives. A flagship activity of the Chair is the coordination of the Cyprus Annual Energy Outlook, an annual reference publication that systematically documents key trends, risks, and policy options in the Cypriot energy sector, drawing contributions from academia, industry, and policymakers.

 

In parallel, the Chair hosts the Energy and Resilience Council, which promotes strategic dialogue on energy as a horizontal driver of economic development, innovation, infrastructure, and social cohesion. Through public events, policy dialogues, and targeted analyses, the Chair strengthens informed decision-making and contributes to shaping a long-term, resilient energy strategy for Cyprus
